Todd Minoski has always been good with his hands, with an admitted knack for metalwork.
As a kid growing up in South Park, he was forever tinkering with things, he says, which explains why he worked as a car mechanic before taking his current job as an electronics technician.
It wasn’t until a few years ago, though, that the 31-year-old broadened his talents from simply modifying and repairing equipment at work to using his hands to create things of beauty at home.
In 2016, while aimlessly surfing the web, the Finleyville resident happened to watch a video on YouTube in which a knife-maker forged a very old wrench into a hunting knife. It got the wheels not just turning, he remembers, but running down a wormhole at breakneck speed.
Within days, using basic tools he had on hand, he turned a junk piece of steel from his garage into a primitive 3-inch hunting knife. And a passion, along with a flourishing side business, was born.
